The Palmen Barnfind Artbox

It has been all over the news. Not only in The Netherlands, but even on the front page of CNN and in magazines like Top Gear. Gallery Aaldering presents one of the greatest barnfinds ever. The large Barnfind collection contains 230 special and beautiful classics such as Maserati, Lancia, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, Aston Martin, BMW, Facel Vega and so much more.

I was so lucky to have the opportunity to photograph the cars in the state as they were discovered. I couldn’t believe it when Nico Aaldering contacted me to ask me if I would be interested in photographing this barnfind. He knew my work and knew this was just my thing. Not knowing exactly what to expect I drove to the two locations were the cars were discovered: a church and a huge barn. When I opened the doors, my jaw dropped. Hundreds of beautiful cars, hiding in the dark, under a thick layer of dust and soot from the fire. With goosebumps and a big smile on my face I started photographing these beauties.

I have created an artbox with my best photos of The Palmen Barnfind Collection. 40 Fine Art prints. But it doesn't stop there! Just like my last book 'Travel in Time', (in the next update of the app later this year), it will be possible to scan some of the photos with the app to bring the photos to life. And when you press the VR button, you will be transported into the barnfind and you will be able to explore the barnfind as if you are really there.
