Gallery Aaldering presents one of the greatest barnfinds ever. The large Barnfind collection contains 230 special and beautiful classics such as Maserati, Lancia, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, Aston Martin, BMW, Facel Vega and so much more.
I was so lucky to have the opportunity to photograph the cars in the state as they were discovered. I couldn’t believe it when Nico Aaldering contacted me to ask me if I would be interested in photographing this barnfind. He knew my work and knew this was just my thing. Not knowing exactly what to expect I drove to the two locations were the cars were discovered: a church and a huge barn. When I opened the doors, my jaw dropped. Hundreds of beautiful cars, hiding in the dark, under a thick layer of dust and soot from the fire. With goosebumps and a big smile on my face I started photographing these beauties.
I have created a very luxurious leatherette bound Prestige album with my best photos of The Palmen Barnfind Collection. Super high quality, thick pages with a limited edition of only 50. But it doesn't stop there! Just like my last book 'Travel in Time', it is possible to scan photos with the free Daanoe app to bring the photos to life. And when you press the VR button, you will be transported into the barnfind and you will be able to explore the barnfind as if you are really there.

Gisteren hebben we in goede orde het pakket met het album ontvangen. WAUW WAUW WAUW!!!
Wat een prachtig album is het geworden! Dit is echt een kunstwerk op zich. We hebben er gisteravond de hele avond in gekeken.
Het is eigenlijk zonde dat de collectie zoals die door jou gefotografeerd is niet meer in het echt te bewonderen is, maar daardoor is het o zo fijn dat je dit album gemaakt hebt zodat we toch regelmatig ‘terug’ kunnen keren naar de loods en de kerk. Ik ben dan ook benieuwd naar de 3D ervaring.
Maar ook als je zonder de 3D aandachtig naar de foto’s kijkt, lijkt het wel alsof ze in 3D veranderen, je wordt als het ware de foto in gezogen en je waant je op de plek die gefotografeerd is, heel bijzonder! Dit vind ik ook van je andere albums van de verlaten gebouwen. Misschien ben ik niet geheel objectief omdat ik groot liefhebber ben van klassieke auto’s (in welke staat dan ook) en (vervallen) historische bouwwerken, maar hoe dan ook is het werk wat je maakt prachtig om te zien!
Wat ik ook bijzonder aan je albums vind is dat er weinig tekst in staat, en toch valt er heel veel in te lezen. Door het kijken naar de foto’s ga je jezelf van alles afvragen en zo ontstaat er vanzelf een verhaal, een verhaal in je eigen fantasie, en dat is misschien wel mooier dan daadwerkelijk weten wat er ooit gebeurd is…
